Recent Haiti Earthquake


This powerful 7.0 magniture earthquake in Haiti had destroyed most of the capital city of Port-au-Prince yesterday. An estimation of over one third of the population, about 3 million people were affected by the quake. President Obama pledged that the US government would lead "a swift, coordinated and aggressive effort to save lives" in Haiti after the earthquake. Right now civilian assistance team are beginning to arrive in Haiti. Canada is ready to help Haiti by sending a relief team. They had sent a team of 20 canadian disaster relief personnel. Canada offered 5 million dollars to the relief in Haiti. This recent disaster had left Haiti looking worse than a war zone and is by far the deadliest disaster in recent history.
